You will serve as a Materials Handler Supervisor in the Navy Region Southwest Site of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will solve problems related to work, materials, and personnel supervised
You will be responsible for organizing and coordinating an effective and efficient receiving and material storage operation.
You will unload incoming shipments and scan or input receipt document information into applicable computer database systems
You will perform material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations
You will operate one or more electric, propane gas, or diesel powered fork lift trucks which are capable of lifting loads of less than 15,000 pounds to facilitate loading/unloading and movement of material.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability and have performed a wide range of common Materials Handler tasks working under general supervision as demonstrated by performing the following: Assists in supervising, leading and/or overseeing one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, warehousing plan, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques. Assign, direct, and review work of subordinates or other workers and evaluate warehousing functions to achieve constant process improvement. Ensure needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools available, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Independently performs a wide range of storage, re-warehousing, and consolidation assignments such as providing for storage of classified and hazardous material; placing, arranging, rotating, marking and tagging of items on pallets, bins, shelves, bulk and other storage locations for all assigned weapon systems; and operating fork lift trucks and loading and unloading vehicles. Monitoring and/or assist performing required personnel management duties involving attendance and leave administration and make recommendations on decisions concerning personnel actions such as selection, promotion, and reassignment actions following EEO/EOT regulations; promote and practice security and safety procedures and processes. I work under the general supervision of a supervisor who ensures accuracy of completed decisions and work.
