About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Provides specialized FAP knowledge and technical guidance to the MWR, ACS, staff and major subordinate commands in program development, implementation, management, and evaluation
Plans, develops, disseminates and executes MWR, ACS policy guidance and regulatory standards for family advocacy program services delivery.
Evaluates the effectiveness of programs, information, and instruction to organizational personnel.
Uses reports and surveys to analyze MWR, ACS installation and garrison program resources, personnel, and facility requirements.
Obtains, maintains, and analyzes data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance,
Researches and prepares fact sheets, information papers, memorandum, briefings and other correspondence concerning program areas.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study].
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Participating in evaluating the effectiveness of family advocacy programs to make recommendations to improve capabilities and efficiency; assisting in determining program resource requirements to include manpower, supplies, equipment, or other expenditures required for program operations; Conducting family advocacy training and/or education programs for an organization and gathering statistical information on program to advise on effectiveness of program.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
