About the Position: Responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and supervising activities relating to capabilities management, materiel requirements, acquisition logistics, logistics best business practice implementation, resources and program requirements, regulations and associated integrated logistics business systems in order to identify user needs, develop long range plans, and integrate disparate actions to meet strategic command and Army objectives.
Duties
Balance competing requirements with current and future organizational acquisition, logistics, technology and other capabilities to meet strategic and operational objectives of Army Materiel Command, the Army, and Department of Defense (DOD).
Exercise full range of supervisory management and authority in directing a staff of civilian personnel to enact the command's vision and achieve the strategic goals and objectives.
Conduct studies, reviews, assessments, and recommend capabilities and investments necessary for AMC to achieve its strategic goals.
Provide technical advice on the Army planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) system impact on sustainment related materiel systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Pre-employment financial disclosure, OGE 450, and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Acquisition Certification, Advanced, within 4 years of job entry.
- Acquisition Corps (AC) member or be able to receive a waiver or be Grandfathered under U.S.C. 1736(c).
- Sign tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
- Supervisory probation may be required for one year to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Mastering advanced concepts, principles and practices related to the materiel requirements and acquisition functions and systems; 2) Perform tasks associated with the assessment of the impact on sustainment of decisions made in the planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) system; and 3) Plan, organize and complete studies and special assignments related to integrated logistics projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
