About the Position: This position supports the AD-DS, J-3/5/7, J-3 Operations Directorate located in Falls Church, Virginia.
Note:
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Provide direct supervision to Uniformed and Federal Civilian employees and serves as a second level supervisor to Directorate staff.
Monitor and coordinate requirements for finished operational products or requests for information or support.
Provide senior leadership and guidance to the Operations Division and serves as a member of the DHA?s senior leader and advisory team for Operations.
Prepare position papers for new processes and policies pertaining to the subordinate organizations of the DHA.
Lead crisis action team planning and review of events requiring military medical support and establishes liaison relationship with all Service level Medical Commands and the Combatant Commands.
Serve as a liaison for Service-related taskers, policies, and initiatives as they relate to health care delivery, readiness requirements, and personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 20 pounds is required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes recommending organizational structure improvements; developing policies for various areas including health care delivery, readiness requirements and/or personnel; conducting program evaluations to ensure effective policy implementation and assigning work to personnel according to priority of work goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
