About the Position: Action officer responsible for preparing Fort Bliss for it's mobilization and deployment missions.
Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 30 Sep 2025. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 6 six years, but not more than 8 years.
Duties
Provides guidance and direction on matters concerning overall mobilization and deployment planning.
Responsible for synchronizing and analyzing directives, plans, policies, and procedures of this and higher headquarters which pertain to the development of mobilization and deployment plans.
Assists in the evaluation of Fort Bliss mobilization plans by planning for, participating in, and evaluating operational tests such as mobilization exercises.
Collects, reviews, analyzes and validates data concerning installation support requirements for Reserve Component units mobilizing at Fort Bliss.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- This position is subject to weekend and extended hours.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes research mobilization and deployment planning regulations; develop draft mobilization and planning guidance; extract information from directives to provide instructions; and interpret mobilization and deployment data to prepare reports on readiness status.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
