The Security Manager for the District of Columbia Courts reports to the Chief Security Officer (CSO). The incumbent assists the CSO in the direction of all work required for physical security; security program planning; development and operations; custody of the courthouse; the safety of judges, court staff, visitors, jurors and witnesses; and is prepared to assume the duties of CSO if required. The incumbent assists the CSO as a Courts' security liaison with the U.S. Marshals Service.

- Background and security investigation are required.
- A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma plus nine (9) years of experience in security or law enforcement including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in security risk management, mitigation strategies threat assessment, physical security, access control and CCTV systems and peripherals and personnel protection is required.
Demonstrated understanding of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and the Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM) Policy is required.
Certified Protection Professional or Physical Security Professional certification is desired.
Graduation from the DC Court's Management Training Program may be substituted for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.
Physical Requirement: This work requires periods of prolonged standing and walking. If necessary incumbent’s responsibilities will entail physical exertion commensurate with active security work.
