Salary: $155 700 - 183 500 per year

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, Strategy Division, located in District of Columbia, District of Columbia.

Duties

Formulates, reviews, and implements branch and organizational goals, policies, strategies, and plans consistent with the short and long-term mission of the organization. Researches, learns, and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to improve overall quality of work products and branch effectiveness. Develops, prepares, and briefs senior leadership on products and reports, based on classified and unclassified information, to ensure senior leaders maintain situational awareness of incidents and/or threats. Represents the Strategy Branch, Strategy Division, SPR, and DHHS in matters of development and implementation of strategies for public health and medical preparedness and response, and enhancement of national security.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Specialized Experience: GS-15: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (4) of the (5) duties listed below: Developing and establishing policy and procedure manuals, operational priorities, and objectives for the organization. Directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising branch staff. Planning, scheduling, and carrying out major projects pertaining to public health and medical emergency preparedness and response. Implementing complex programs composed of interdependent projects and subprograms. Evaluating program performance to identify opportunities for improvement of service.
