Serve as the Program Support Assistant with responsibility to the Home Based Primary Care Program and the Program Specialist for the Bay Pines HBPC programs. This position would support one or more of the programs included in the Home and Community Care (H&CBC) division of Geriatrics and Extended Care. These programs are home based programs that require clinical and administrative quality oversight in order to meet applicable mandated standards.
Duties
Responsible for collecting, compiling and/or tracking of statistical information in support of the program operations and to access status or outcomes in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives.
Establish protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains patient data and retrieves computerized data.
Assist in responses to requesters for special information from the offices of VACO, VISN, Medical Center Director, Chief of Staff and Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care.
Serve as liaison to other areas within the Medical Center, other VA facilities, the VISN office, and community agencies.
Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
Assist in the budget projections for the coming year.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/14/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and/or maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, and/or database; and providing information and customer service.
Preferred Experience:
Experience as Program Support Assistant with Home and Community Care Programs and Program Management in GEC non-institutional care programs.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is partly sedentary, using the computer for parts of the day. Walking to other parts of the facility may be necessary. Some bending and standing is required.
