This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for the following: Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to provide technical support and inspection for maintenance, repair, or alteration of buildings, utilities, parking areas and roadways. Performs on-site inspection of maintenance repair, constructions work, to ensure compliance with contract and building code. Reviews plans and estimates for maintenance and repair, minor construction, and other work to assure to ensure compliance. Acts as a liaison between contractors and Installation agencies and tenants to resolve problems in scheduling and accomplishing work. Initiates project requirements identified during building preventive maintenance inspections.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Reviewing contracting proposals to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with the organizations regulations; Performing on- site inspection of the maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings, utilities, and parking areas, roadways to ensure compliance with contracts; Reviewing annual proposed project list and prepares engineering reports required by higher headquarters; Performing contract negotiations under close review of higher official. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
