The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Serves as a first-line supervisor of a small to moderate-sized workforce accomplishing highly complex mission-critical business or technical work.
Plans, prioritizes, and schedules work, adjusting for changes in resources, customer needs, and other requirements.
Technically directs, manages and controls a complex portion of systems engineering product data programs.
Tracks progress and quality of organizational performance and justifies significant changes in staffing, equipment/facilities, and processes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A two-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-03/GS-12/13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Develop solutions from analyzing data from a variety of sources (i.e., drawings, specifications, maintenance records, etc.); 2) Implement improvements/modifications to engineering work methods, approaches, and/or procedures; 3) Oversee fabrication, procurement, testing, or support of research and development prototypes and production units; 4) Conduct product engineering studies on systems, subsystems, components, and related processes; and 5) Analyze/evaluate the design and implementation of new products and proposed product improvements.
