You will serve as a TRAVEL SUPPORT AND PROGRAMS SPECIALIST in the Travel Division, Resource Management Department of DDHBAP ASIA PACIFIC CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES.
Salary Range:
GS-7: $48,567 - $63,137
GS-9: $59,407 - $77,226
Duties
You will facilitate the safe travel of all staff world-wide, and foreign invited attendees to our courses/ events as well as invited adjunct faculty or guest speakers.
You will coordinate for the safe travel of entry to international countries around the world and working with U.S. Embassies around the world for scheduled overseas events.
You will work Visas for up to fifteen different countries at times to support foreign attendees to enter the overseas countries to attend Center events.
You will provide guidance to help define the criteria for all travel and pay support, and assist in defining objectives, priorities, organization, and making decisions for the executing events.
You will plan, develop, and process travel arrangements for staff, attendees, students, external faculty, guest speakers, and prospective employment interviewees.
You will prepare and process/monitor vouchers until liquidated and the administration and disbursement of cash or debit card payments for travel entitlements dependent on traveler?s status.
You will make makes flights, lodging, and rental car reservations as required, processes orders via the Defense Travel System (DTS).
You will resolve a variety of administrative issues such as financial matters, travel changes, lost luggage, support of emergency family?s situation, and/or the early return for humanitarian situation.
You will calculate and determine travel funding required including airfare, per diem, and miscellaneous and incidental expenses ensuring compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and, Finance Management Regulations (FMR).
You will review and confirm reservations/itineraries for arrival reports and identifies any VIPs as well as those who may have special needs.
You will counsel, instruct, and assist members of the Department of Defense island-wide and their families needing to file an application for issuance, renewal, amendment or extensions of U.S. Tourist and Official passports.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, and processing travel arrangements and orders for staff, visitors, high level visitors, and leadership; coordinating travel for high level visitors and leadership; and process passport requests.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: carries out recurring travel and support/affairs assignments, research and utilize specific travel guidelines to select appropriate procedures and apply them to specific travel cases, and determine the requirements and application needed for passport requests (Civilian and Military members).

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Education may substitute for specialized experience as follows:
GS-9:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR;
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR;
Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR;
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
GS-07:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate education, OR;
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, OR;
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
