This position is located at NAS Jacksonville in support of the Auto Skills Center and MWR Recreation Lodging programs. The incumbent performs front desk and/or reservation functions for the MWR Recreation program. Recreational Lodging operations may include Recreation Vehicle (RV) Parks, Vacation Rentals (Cottages, cabins) and/or campgrounds.
Duties
Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of Community Recreation programs.
May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed. Is accountable for the accuracy of daily sales transactions and completes a Daily Activity Report (DAR) at the end of every shift.
Provides customer service by greeting patrons in person and by answering the telephone; takes messages and handles customer requests or referrals to the appropriate staff member.
Performs administrative duties, all of which are accomplished through a variety of means, including computer software programs which track resource inventories. Ensures all rental or check-out forms are properly completed and reservation and check-out procedures are followed.
Researches and provides information and referral for a variety of recreational opportunities for individuals/families on and off the base.
Utilizes the Property Management System (PMS) to access the guest information, retrieve reservation information, change or cancel reservations as requested by the guest, or register guests. Verifies registration information, provides guest with their room key or card.
Provides assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
Registers and assigns rooms/space to guests, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms/spaces and guest accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a current CNIC NAF employee at time of applying to be considered.
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Must reside within 50 miles of 32212 (Naval Air Station Jacksonville) at time of applying.
Qualifications

One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Knowledge of daily front desk operations of a hotel or RV Parks highly preferred.
Skill in basic math, reading, ability to handle control and account for large amounts of customer volume.
Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based on functions.
Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must have strong customer service skills, hospitality experience preferred.
Knowledge of computers and office procedures.
