About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command (Theater), 21st Signal Brigade, 302nd Signal Battalion, US Army Signal Activity Office of the Commander, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Duties

Provides authoritative information and assistance to management/organizational officials/employees on personnel security policies and procedures for reviewing adverse personnel security determinations, and employee reconsideration or appeal rights. Advises management and employees on re-investigation requirements and matters relating to maintenance of current clearances. Develops, implements, and monitors policies, procedures, control systems and methods to prevent the compromise or loss of classified information or materiel. Conducts oversight/compliance inspections to assure adequate information security controls are in place. Advises management and procurement officials of the requirements of the industrial security program by preparing and reviewing contract security documentation. Performs analytical, operational, advisory, and evaluative work to protect/safeguard classified and sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This position requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information SecurityPersonnel SecuritySecurity Program ManagementTechnical Competence Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
