This position serves as a foreman over the housekeeping program for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Incumbent exercises supervisory responsibility over work operations involving subordinate workers. This position reports to the Housekeeping Officer.
Duties

Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates; selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed; schedules and approves leave of subordinates. Sets performance requirements and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.
Counsels employees on problems; adjusts informal complaints through discussion with employees and union representatives.
Responsible for the application and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program guidelines and the achievements of tangible EEO progress and results relative to minorities and women.
Provides for management, distribution of hospital clean linen; sees that soiled linens are bundled, listed and sent to laundry and clean linen is properly checked when returned; recommends replacement of housekeeping equipment and machines in current use; certifies receiving documents for purchases and services on credit card.
Maintains a continuous training program for housekeeping employees. Trains housekeeping personnel, including new employees, in routine cleaning procedures, approved methods and techniques for cleaning and disinfecting isolated area; aseptic handling of soiled linen; and precautions necessary to protect themselves against infection while performing such duties.
Qualifications

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Priority consideration will be given to Veterans Preference eligibles in accordance with 5 USC 3310 and Section 401 of the Civil Service Regulations.

Time In Grade
