This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves as Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist and Branch Chief of a PM Logistics Management Office with responsibility for the overall management, planning, acquisition, direction, and coordination of integrated logistics support activities for the PM
Duties
Identify new program requirements and provides for the development of plans for integration with current total mission.
Develops and assesses systems deployment plans to assure that distribution and support planning for items of new equipment is substantive and accurate.
Makes decisions and recommendations concerning all but the most highly controversial issues involving top policy matters requiring joint concurrence or approval of other functional areas.
Represents the Project Manager at high-level conferences or meetings with representatives of DA, other services, foreign countries and private industry relative to supply maintenance, training policies, plans, and objectives.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for Advanced certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) position and requires a 3-year tenure agreement.
- This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring a Secret security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing authoritative advice on integrated production support throughout all phases of the acquisition lifecycle; 2) Tailoring regulations, formal guidance, and processes specific to program and program deliverables; and 3) Overseeing the planning and implementation of product support efforts to ensure the best use of available resources. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
