This position is part of the Deputy Administrator for Naval Reactors, Department of Energy. National Nuclear Security Administration Demonstration Project: This position is covered by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Demonstration Project. The NQ-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-13/14 grade levels. As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, you will:

  • The position is covered under the DOE Drug-Free Workplace Order 343.1. The tentative selectee must test negative prior to final selection for this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent which demonstrates the application of advanced knowledge of human resources principles, concepts, regulations, and policies in order to provide expert advisory service and/or authoritative policy interpretations in the program areas of: employee benefits, performance management, and employee relations. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade/band any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade/pay band requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For an NQ-03 position you must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent. The grade /pay band may have been in any occupation, and must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade/pay band eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide additional SF-50s that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade/pay band. We will not make assumptions that this requirement has been met. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
