As a Human Resources Specialist with the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) Human Resources Services Division, Personnel Action Request team you will be responsible for monitoring, validating and reviewing personnel actions on a daily basis in accordance with federal and agency policy and procedures and taking corrective action to resolve errors in the Federal Personnel/Payroll (FPPS) system.
Duties
Determines and applies legal and regulatory guidance associated with processing a variety of personnel actions in an automated payroll system in compliance with federal regulations, agency policies and procedures.
Monitors a suspense system to ensure time sensitive cases are processed expeditiously, identifies and reports concerns to lead or supervisor.
Sets pay using applicable pay setting regulations.
Conducts review of employee and position data in various agency automated systems such as USAStaffing, eOPF and ePDS to process actions, identify errors and make corrective action when necessary to ensure accuracy.
Conducts audits of completed actions. Monitors, assesses, and documents contractor performance in meeting technical and administrative requirements of a contract.
Participates in audits and development of presentations and informational sessions for stakeholders.
Verifies sources, examines documentation, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations.
Investigates personnel inquiries and assists senior HR Specialist with finding options available to the customer.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-09 level, you must have:
a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level
Processing Human Resource (HR) personnel actions using various references and regulations and by researching and using standards of operational procedures, web sites, circulars, or established job aids.
Interpreting and applying a variety of routine personnel management rules, regulations, and procedures.
Utilizing automated personnel record keeping systems to research and resolve personnel issues or provide management support.
OR
b) Completed all requirements for a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field
OR
c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field
OR
d) LL. B or J.D, if related
OR
e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above
