About the Position: THESE POSITIONS WILL BE FILLED USING DIRECT-HIRE AUTHORITY FOR DOMESTIC DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE (DIB) FACILITIES AND THE MAJOR RANGE AND TEST FACILITIES BASE (MRTFB) IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. This is a term appointment not to exceed one year and may be extended up to a total of 6 years.

Duties

Replace circuit components and parts on Printed Circuit Boards, chassis and modules using hand tools. Utilize detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to construct individual chassis and components of electronic equipment. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and assemble equipment of limited design. Utilize test equipment to identify defective components, modules and assemblies. Assist with repairing complex systems and equipment for proper operation. Operate automatic test equipment which has been programmed to a type of chassis or circuit card to isolate or locate defective component.

Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Business travel up to 25% of the time.
• Shift work and overtime may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment and annual physicals.
• Appointment is subject to a one year trial period.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 year. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. The incumbent may be required to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear-plugs, etc., and is required to comply with all applicable safety directives.
