You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER in the Director, SSP (DIRSSP), of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS.

Duties
You will provide continuous expert planning, communication, advising, decision making and execution of distinguished visitor (DVs) and dignitary visits; senior level conferences (Flag/SES) conferences; and ceremonies.
You will provide continuous expert planning, communication, advising, decision making and execution of special events as well as thorough analysis and oversight direction of all the personnel, equipment, and budgetary requirements for their support.
You will advise and staff in all areas of protocol, official protocol principles, comprehensive DoD/DoN guidance, and coordination/execution of visits, events, and conferences.
You will advise staff in all areas of protocol to include issues involving high ranking foreign, federal, state, and local government and military officials, and staff.
You will develop detailed plans, conducts analysis, and designs itineraries for visits, receptions, conferences, and other special, high visibility events surrounding distinguished visitors to the Command arena.
You will coordinate initiatives through verbal and written communications with high-ranking members of the military, the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations, Senators, Congressman, and foreign dignitaries.
You will direct, coordinate, and lead all logistical and advance operational support of distinguished visitors for procurement and execution of transportation, drivers, security, and lodging.
You will prepare comprehensive itinerary execution, providing personal assistance and detailed briefings to distinguished visitors and coordinating multiple activity visits and events with public affairs officials and business representatives.
You will design invitations; development of invitee list; management of acceptance/regrets; contracting of catering requirements and services.
You will coordinate security and access control; procurement of interpreters and official gifts; orchestration of table and seating arrangements; and execution of ceremonial courtesies; and the conference program.
You will develop/write briefings to inform the Commander and/or Chief of Staff with respect to all arrangements in support of protocol program distinguished visitors, senior level conferences, ceremonies, and special events.
You will maintain effective and open communication with command and higher authorities in support of protocol program distinguished visitor visits, senior level conferences, ceremonies, and special events.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: provide advice in all areas of protocol, plan and coordinate services for official visits, social functions and events for an organization.
