About the Position: Serve as a Division Chief of assigned area accomplishing work through a group of professional, technical, and support personnel. Directs, develops, and/or implements logistics policies, processes, initiatives, and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon or information systems acquisition in the areas of Logistics Support.
This is a pay banded position. The NH-04 band encompasses grades 14 and 15 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
Duties
Develop plans and strategies to provide leadership to subordinate employees on logistical matters related to acquisition and sustainment of weapon system.
Defines problems and develops recommendations for resolution of issues. Ensures coordination and/or participation in planning of all concerned functional elements.
Directs, develops, and/or implements logistics policies, processes, initiatives, and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon or information systems acquisition in the areas of Logistics Support.
Brief and interact with senior military and civilian leaders to explain, advocate, and express facts and ideas on logistics issues.
Ensures compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Advanced Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.
- This position requires a mobility agreement which requires written consent to comply with management directed permanent change of station (PCS) movement and/or deployment to support overseas contingency operations.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position/Key Leadership Position.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 years.

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 1 Year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 1 years, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Directing, developing and or implementing logistics policies, processes, and/or programs. 2) Performing supervisor functions such as evaluating the performance of subordinates, recommending disciplinary actions, and or developing performance plans. And 3) Ensuring compliance with regulations, polices and guidance and recommend policy changes as needed.
