•    The position is telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy.This advanced developmental position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR). This position provides administrative services to the Regional Director (or immediate supervisor if other than the Director) and his/her staff. Also coordinates work with OCR headquarters.

Duties

The incumbent will be assigned to one of the regional offices as below.

  • You may be subject to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • Relocation will not be paid.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification RequirementsYou may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-09, if you possess the specialize experience, education, or a combination of the two.Specialized Experience for the GS-9One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-07 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1.  Experience utilizing management principles, pertinent administrative regulation.2.  Experience utilizing administrative, budget, personnel, and procurement policies, procedures and requirements sufficient to execute a variety of program support projects.3.  Experience utilizing administrative functions to support the needs of staff. OREDUCATION (see EDUCATION SECTION of the vacancy announcement)OR A combination of both education and experience in which the total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.Specialized Experience for the GS-11One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-09 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1.  Experience conducting analysis to summarize findings, develop new processes, and develop solutions and new approaches.2.  Experience utilizing management principles, techniques of analysis and evaluation, administrative processes, budget, personnel, and procurement policies; the ability to execute a variety of program support projects and initiate administrative changes.3.  Experience resolving problems, coordinating activities with administrative and program staff; actively participating in the planning process, providing feedback on proposals.OREDUCATION (see EDUCATION SECTION of the vacancy announcement)OR A combination of both education and experience in which the total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) GS-9The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Education

You may meet the minimum qualifications of this position by meeting the following education options.

GS-9

Two years of graduate education (beyond a bachelor’s degree).

or

A master's degree or equivalent degree or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

or

A combination of specialized experience and education that when taken as a percentage of the required education and experience total 100% or more.

GS-11

Ph.D.

or

equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related

or 

A combination of specialized experience and education that when taken as a percentage of the required education and experience total 100% or more.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
