You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will maintain preventive maintenance programs for facilities structures, components, and systems.
You will review projects that impact assigned facilities in scope, complexity, and design.
You will answer customer concerns and questions regarding their facilities requirements.
You will inspect facilities to ensure requested work requirements are feasible and completed.
You will develop detailed job plans for construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of facilities.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
Qualifications
FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Communicate daily with customer and coordinating all maintenance services for assigned facilities; 2) Screen all work requirements considering issues of safety, urgency, priority, health and security; 3) Maintain budget oversight. Responsible for tracking estimates and expenditures; 4) Review projects that impact assigned facilities in scope, complexity, and design to ensure that sound engineering principles are utilized and that work is compatible with existing facility systems and customer mission; 5) Communicating customer concerns and desires so that proper customer focus will be incorporated in the funding decision making process and; 6) Answers customer concerns and questions regarding their facilities requirements.
FOR GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Communicate daily with customer and coordinating all maintenance services for assigned facilities; 2) Screen all work requirements considering issues of safety, urgency, priority, health and security and recommend or initiate appropriate action to properly maintain the facility and minimize life cycle costs; 3) Maintain budget oversight, Responsible for tracking estimates and expenditures and implementing controls necessary to keep budget execution in line; 4) Review projects that impact assigned facilities in scope, complexity, and design to ensure that sound engineering principles are utilized and that work is compatible with existing facility systems and customer mission; 5) Responsible for communicating customer concerns and desires so that proper customer focus will be incorporated in the funding decision making process and makes recommendations for prioritizing projects to ensure that the needs of the tenants are met regarding mission requirements and other high impact or command interest issues and ; 6) Answers customer concerns and questions regarding their facilities requirements.
