About the Position: This position serves as Deputy Director Operations Management, for the US Army Military District of Washington (MDW), an Army Major Command (MACOM) and the core element of the Joint Force Headquarters for the National Capital Region (JFHQ-NCR), a component command of US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).

Duties

Serve as director of major studies and projects which may be highly sensitive and confidential. Develop, design, and direct the implementation of program evaluations to determine effective and efficient practices. Direct, plan, coordinate, schedule, and control the joint operations and deployments of all assigned forces. Review regulations issued by higher headquarters and determined impact on Army and Joint operational requirements, training programs, and functions. Manage the directorate budget. Plan, organize, schedule, and host or participate in periodic In-Process Reviews, briefings, conferences and exercises management plan milestone meetings.

  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must sign DA Form 5019-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing the day-to-day staff administration and operation that is responsible for major programs such as: planning, intelligence acquisition and dissemination, security management, force protection, readiness, training, exercises, and management of the joint operations center. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-14 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationHuman Capital ManagementOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
