Duties

You will serve as an entry level Human Resource Specialist performing in connection with staffing, classification, Labor and Employee relations, and/or other HR specialty areas. You will contribute to the timelines, reliability, acceptability, and accurate completion of the finished products of the unit. You will provide input about, and interpret standard HR procedures, practices, and regulations. You will analyze and interpret sources information in order to apply to specific areas of work.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Running reports from Human Resources systems to query, retrieve, and analyze information in order to complete assignments (i.e. DCPDS, USA Staffing, Onboarding Manager, HR Link); 2) Assist in resolving problems in one or more human resources specialties (staffing, classification, Labor and Employee relations, and/or other HR specialty areas); 3) Providing written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop papers, reports, and correspondence in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Adobe; and 4) Responding to general questions regarding human resources matters. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion one full year of graduate level education in a related field;
Or
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement in a related field;
Or
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
