This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command.
Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021.
As a IT SPECIALIST (ENTARCH/INFOSEC) at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as a Senior Digital Transformation Specialist within the USTRANCOM Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems Directorate
Develops solutions requiring various disciplines to include DevSecOps, Agile Development, Cloud Operations, Containerized Environments, and Cybersecurity.
Researches and evaluates available technologies and standards to meet customer requirements.
Analyzes, evaluates, and provides recommendations to both the Program Managers (PM) and the enterprise program review process entities to improve IT functionality for cloud computing environments
Develops, fields, and sustains defense systems and ensure DoD products are delivered on time, perform as expected, and are cost-effective.
Collaborates with senior leaders and high-level customers from higher headquarters, other combatant commands, component commands, and private industry to gather and evaluate complex functional requirements that are translated into technical solutions.

- A masters degree in a related technical discipline such as computer engineering, computer science, or information technology is highly desirable.
- Completion of Professional Military Education (PME) ? Senior Developmental Education (SDE) or Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) II is highly desirable.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH 04 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH3/GS13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Applying complex IT system design principles and practices (i.e. cloud migration, integration techniques, and other methods as directed in government policies)
Analyzing on premise legacy systems and recommending actions on migration to a cloud environment
Utilizing DevSecOps practices, tools, and methodologies
Providing leadership to a team, to include team formation and execution of tasks
Presenting technical concepts, both orally and in writing, to senior military, government, and civilian officials
