You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the FAMILY HOUSING OFFICE within the FLEET, FAMILY HOUSING DEPARMENT (N93) of NAVSTA GREAT LAKES IL.
Duties
You will develop regional policies and procedures for administering government housing, inspections, resident relations, furnishings management and related family housing functions.
You will conduct inspections of facilities to determine cleanliness and need for maintenance.
You will follow up on housing deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are taken.
You will manage rental listings to meet the needs of a broad customer base (e.g., transient, temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent housing).
You will coordinate housing projects by maintaining liaison with command officials.
Requirements

- Position requires employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid driver's license is required the first day of employment. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- Employees may be required to wear protective gear including hard hats, boots, and overalls while visiting housing units and faciilities undergoing, inspection, repair, maintenance, or renovations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of the Housing Program; 2) Receiving and processing complaints and related investigations concerning residents; 3) Processing requests for permanent and temporary quarters; 4) Scheduling and coordinating the maintenance and repair of housing units and conducting follow-up inspections to verify that discrepancies are corrected. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
You have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education.
OR
Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal to 100%.
