About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, Project Management Division, Mega Project Division located in Galveston, TX.

Duties

Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enforcing project standards and monitoring for conformance. Develop and implement resource loading and maintaining protocols. Analyze data and coordinate with Project Schedulers to ensure that P2 resource schedules are consistent across projects. Provide coaching and guidance to staff and project delivery teams on the use of project management tools and techniques, policy, or procedural revisions that will improve schedule and budget accuracy. Brief the Chief and other Division/Branch managers routinely to keep them aware of issues. Coordinates preparation of the annual operating budget for the Chief. Monitor the budget during the year to assure that plans and goals remain on target, using independent analyses data. Review and analyze historical data and regional data to provide managers comparison and trend information, with recommendations for changes that would improve performance.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Analyzing an organization's programs to identify trends in budget, schedules for the effective management and execution of programs/projects.; 2) Preparing reports to recommend adjustments for projects, work orders, and expenditure schedules; AND 3) Gathering information and resources from administrative personnel to negotiate approval of programming proposals and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingFinancial ManagementManages and Organizes InformationProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
