You will serve as a Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer in the Aircraft Engine/Dynamic Components Division of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Duties
You will follow established procedures to disassemble aircraft mechanical assemblies.
You will use tools to repair discrepancies found on aircraft mechanical parts or components.
You will operate test equipment to perform aircraft transmission performance tests.
You will determine the extent of repairs required to rework or replace damaged aircraft mechanical parts.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Troubleshooting the aircraft mechanical parts determining the extent of repairs required to rework or replace damage components assuring serviceability;2) Planning and performing work involving disassembly, repair, modifications, rework/overhaul, re-assemble, using blueprints, schematics and work orders in order to complete the unit in a timely manner;3) Applying complex formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices to isolate the cause of aircraft malfunctions;4) Selecting the correct hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments to complete complex Aircraft Mechanical tasks;5) Demonstrating proper trade and shop practices as a journeyman or artisan level maintaining compliance with all methods and procedures.
