About the Position: Serves as Financial Readiness Manager with full authority to plan, organize, and carry out, the overall operation of the Garrison Financial Readiness Programs at a large or medium garrison.
Federal employees in Hawaii are currently entitled to receive a 9.28% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.
Duties
Coordinates with other activities, and serves as the Army Community Services (ACS) representative on a variety of family activity councils and boards.
Reviews activities and programs to ensure that financial programs are operated in the most efficient manner and provide the best possible services.
Evaluates progress of plans to determine whether objectives are being accomplished economically with reference to budget and manpower.
Supervises plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate staff based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of staff workload.
Assigns work in consideration of mission requirements.
Develops performance standards and rates subordinates? performance;.
Serves as the Commander's focal point for policies and practices involving financial readiness, consumer affairs and commercial solicitation.
Publicizes financial readiness programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a financial counselor certification in accordance with the service implementation guidelines (DoDI 1342.22,3.d(6)(b). Certification must be the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Must be able to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report at time of appointment and annually thereafter.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience 1) Planning and execution of a personal financial program; 2) Assisting with allocation of funds, and 3) Plan, organize and analyze the effectiveness of programs. This is the typical work of duties performed at the next lower grade GS-11
