Duties
The Budget/Acquisitions Technician is primarily responsible for creating all new and renewal orders and acquisition records in a local Oracle-based system, providing expert accounting support for all materials acquisitions tasks, processing invoices for payment, and assuring the highest quality support for the Library's budget and acquisition processes. This position has primary responsibility for maintaining the Library's petty cash funds. Manages all aspects of the Library's materials acquisitions process to include ordering, receiving material, preparing invoices for final payment, keeping accurate records of all acquisitions and payment tasks, claiming material, and working directly with vendors to resolve problems. Maintains vendor records so that all payment information is current, maintains electronic access to all receipts and order records, facilitates the Library's GPO requisition orders, and generates monthly statistics and budget reports and other financial reports. Other support tasks include preparing petty cash vouchers, retrieving records and briefs and oral argument transcripts for use by Court personnel and the public, answering calls, routing material, assisting in the promotion of new acquisitions, helping to maintain the procedure manual and responding to rush requests. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Two years of library experience preferred. Experience with standard accounting practices required, preferably in a library environment. Experience with financial software such as Oracle and PeopleSoft and with Microsoft Office products. Experience gathering, compiling, and presenting financial information. Knowledge of materials receiving and claiming practices in libraries. Familiarity with library bibliographic utilities such as OCLC and/or ILS products.
Education
A Bachelor's degree is required.
