About the Position: This IT Specialist (Network) position is assigned to the Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Communications - Tactical (PEO C3T) Project Manager Tactical Radios (PM TR) Product Lead Communications Security (PdL COMSEC) located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Duties
Applies expertise to the design and implementation of new requirements and modifications to existing software and hardware.
Support includes operating systems, support tools, and system utility programs.
Provides IT advice, assistance, and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of warfighter communications systems.
Performs project and/or contract management duties.
Plans and provides customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training.
Furnishes expert technical advice and recommendations on major problem areas in assigned fields of specialization.
Evaluates proposals provide technical guidance to contractors, resolves technical problem areas, observes progress, and evaluates performance.
Leads and coordinates the efforts of other IT Specialists and contractors in the analysis and development of future software and hardware solutions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Foundational Level in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Business travel required up to 15% of the time.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This is a Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position as outlined in DoDD 8140.01 - Cyberspace Workforce Management, Encl 2, Par 9(c)(d).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
