About the Position: Logistics Management Specialist with the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), AMCOM Logistics Center, Missiles Directorate at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

Duties

Provide guidance on the implementation of Department of Army (DA) and Department of Defense (DoD) current and future logistic missions. Provide guidance on forecasting, budgeting, and physical distribution as it relates to post-fielding materiel management and supply support of weapon systems. Make formal/informal presentations to all management levels, outlining the history, current status, and objectives of the logistics program and related actions. Provide guidance with preparing, defending and implementing budget requirements. Work various types of contracts, techniques or requirements for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation administration.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selected must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position has a requirement for occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel.
