About the Position: US Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Human Resources Military Personnel Division.

Duties

Advises and counsels soldiers on accompanied and unaccompanied family travel and the associated entitlements. Serves as Passport Agent, requiring designation from the Department of State, Washington DC, with signatory authority for the purpose of accepting applications for passports and administering oaths incident thereto. Manages Soldiers on assignment to the Drill Sergeant program and as field Recruiters for U.S. Army Recruiting Command. Administers the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) as it pertains to medical screening and mandatory enrollment, if medically required, of all family members of soldiers on overseas assignments. Counsels soldiers and family members on EFMP and provides assistance as required. Coordinates, analyzes and solves family travel problems for soldiers. Requests passports and visas for active duty soldiers, DOD civilians, reserve component members and family members traveling to overseas destinations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service. Specialize experience is documented experience in 1. Applying, a standardized body of military Human Resources rules, procedures, and operations. 2. Operating personal computers and software programs in an office environment. 3. Extracting, revising, or sorting information from files, records, or databases. OR Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education: To qualify based on your education, you must have successfully completed Four years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours). To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.) OR Combination of Experience and Education: To qualify based on partial experience and partial education you must have specialized experience but less than one year; and have more than two (2) years but less than four (4) years of education. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then take your total semester hours (undergraduate/graduate) and subtract 60, then divide the sum by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.(NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.) Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
