About the Position: The purpose of this position is to serve as the Lead Human Resources Technician (Military) responsible for provideing technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Military Personnel Division Consolidated Assignments Processing Section.
Duties
Processing of PCS/TCS order actions. Responsible for the processing of PCS/TCS order actions for all military personnel assigned to Fort Carson and the geographical servicing area.
Serves as Team Lead for personnel of the Military Personnel Division Consolidated Assignments Processing Section (CAPS) tasked to perform processing tasks.
Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals in the performance of military personnel functions and maintains files.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.
- Qualified Typist Required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Processing military personnel actions; (2). Reviewing official military records; AND (3). Providing guidance to customers on military personnel regulations and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or above).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
