You will serve as a Metal Processing Work Leader in the Components Product Management, Dynamic Components and Components Processing/Machining Deputy for Production Management, Blast/Metal Spray Production Team Center of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will clean, prepare, coat, and strip various aircraft substrates. You will provide quality formal and on the job training to personnel of various levels. You will communicate with personnel and support groups in the day-to-day operations of the shop. You will perform Electroplating, Cleaning, and Sandblasting duties for aircraft, missile, engine and miscellaneous components and parts.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain required certification and/or license.

Qualifications

I am considered an expert in the metal processing trade and I am consulted by other employees in difficult situations. I have the ability to lead/supervise others who perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Demonstrating proper work methods and techniques related to the metal processing trade; 2) Providing formal and informal on the job training to personnel of various levels; 3) Instructing shop personnel in the implementation of new or improved production techniques and performing difficult troubleshooting and fault analysis on production operations; 4) Utilizing technical knowledge and skill to apply metal processing specifications, directives, and overhaul instructions; 5) Instructing and assisting others working from technical orders, engineering specifications, sketches, manufacturer's manuals, and laboratory analysis reports; and 6) Operating metal spraying equipment (i.e. plasma, thermo, and wire spray) and using precision measuring instruments (i.e. magnetic thickness gages, micrometers, calipers, etc). I have the ability to lead/supervise others who perform the full range of metal processing tasks including: 1) Demonstrating proper work methods and techniques related to the metal processing trade; 2) Providing formal and informal on the job training to personnel of various levels; 3) Utilizing technical knowledge and skill to apply metal processing specifications, directives, and overhaul instructions; 4) Assisting others working from technical orders, engineering specifications, sketches, manufacturer's manuals, and laboratory analysis reports; and 5) Operating metal spraying equipment (i.e. plasma, thermo, and wire spray) and using precision measuring instruments (i.e. magnetic thickness gages, micrometers, calipers, etc). I have the ability to lead/supervise others who perform common metal processing tasks including: 1) Demonstrating proper work methods and techniques related to the metal processing trade; 2) Providing formal and informal on the job training to personnel of various levels; 3) Utilizing technical knowledge and skill to apply metal processing specifications, directives, and overhaul instructions; and 4) Assisting others working from technical orders, engineering specifications, sketches, manufacturer's manuals, and laboratory analysis reports.
