The Administrative Support Assistant (ASA) for Social Work Service (SWS) provides expert administrative and programmatic assistance to the SWS. The applicant is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the assigned clerical and administrative support requirements of Social Work Service. Will serve as SWS ADPAC.
Duties
Duties include:
Remains current on administrative medical scheduling processes to understand current scheduling processes, home monitoring, care services, and make modifications to scheduled actions as needed to insure optimum utilization of service resources and Veteran care.
Meets customers' needs; consistently communicates and treats Veterans, their representatives, visitors, and staff in a courteous and respectful manner; sharing consistent information according to established policies and procedure, while handling conflict and concerns constructively and appropriately.
Provide data/reports related to the administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of the program to the program manager, Chief of SWS, or other supervisors needing data.
Acts as full-time liaison between patients and respective social work clinicians and specialty providers.
Follows Rules of Behavior as set forth in the information security agreement protecting sensitive data and using such data and information derived from it only in the execution of official duties.
Uses software applications to accurately collect, enter, and manage data and draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports.
Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies.
Acts as ADPAC for Social Work Service, enters EPAS requests, assists supervisors with annual Key validation and sends report to Privacy Officer, Chief of SWS, Supervisors and AO.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm ( subject to change based on facility needs)
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/12/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS 7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 6
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS 6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Familiar with clerical and administrative support requirements of Social Work Service
Experienced with surveys and reports, and a wide range of administrative functions.
Collaborate with multiple clinical services in order to implement program functions.
