Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for technical, analytical, and automation services in support of the mission. Performs complex litigation technology support and Audio/Visual/Communication assignments associated with day-to-day operations of the litigation support systems. Typical work assignments will include:
Provides technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation options, systems and multimedia capabilities, including motion graphics and 3D visualizations, and support services available to aid in case preparation, trial preparation and trial presentation.
Recommending a variety of software packages including document review databases that would be most effective for organizing and managing information, documents and/or the presentation of complex and voluminous evidence.
Provides recommendations to attorneys and district personnel as to the most technically feasible, efficient and cost effective designs needed to meet user requirements and litigation objectives through automation.
Organizes voluminous case information for retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing and controlling documents into a database.
Prepares computerized presentations using a variety of software packages including database, spreadsheet, word processing, mapping, trial presentation, audio editing and video editing applications.
Processes and indexing digital evidence using computer litigation support software.
Diagnoses and resolving litigation support computer system hardware and software problems.
Provides technical advice on legal automation requirements and system capabilities.
Works with trial teams to determine various ways to present graphic and audio/visual demonstrative evidence for trials; and other related duties as assigned.
Providing customer training including orientation for new users on multimedia (video and presentation graphics) software tools.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
This position requires the ability for the incumbent to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
- This position requires the ability for the incumbent to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance.
Qualifications
QUALFICATIONS: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as defined below. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to perform the job duties. Examples of such experience involves performing the following types of duties: providing litigation support and Audio/Visual/Communication assignments associated with the day-to-day operations of the litigation support team by providing Information Technology concepts, methods, standards and practices as they relate to automated Litigation Support functions; experience i.e., trial preparation, graphics, and presentation; and developing and managing Litigation Support systems that meet current and future needs. Preparing computerized presentations using a variety of software packages including database, spreadsheet, word processing, mapping, trial presentation, audio editing and video editing applications. Processing and indexing digital evidence using computer litigation support software. Diagnosing and resolving litigation support computer system hardware and software problems. Providing technical advice on legal automation requirements and system capabilities. Providing training to office community on litigation support functions.
