This position is located in Hero's Hall at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), University Drive (UD) campus, under the Voluntary Services service line. Incumbent reports directly to the Supervisory Voluntary Services Specialist at UD. The purpose of Hero's Hall is to coordinate transportation of Veterans to and from facilities external to University Drive and to serve as a holding area for Veteran patients.

Duties

The Supervisory Escort perform supervisory functions for the personnel assigned to Hero's Hall, and management functions of the daily activities of Hero's Hall. Responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the assigned escorts. Maintains a close liaison with members of senior leadership to resolve issues that arise in accordance with regulation. Provides administrative and technical assistance to the Supervisory Voluntary Services Specialist related to the management and operations within Hero's Hall. Provides periodic training in the use and function of new equipment and orientation to assigned personnel. Schedules training sessions that include computer education, video tapes, lectures, etc. Managing, tracking and training all assigned escorts. Establishes protocols for Veterans, patients, drivers, family members, escorts, or any other personnel; advice on organization or program related issues and concerns. Provides, reports, requests and program changes, clarification of material, collaboration and program improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.
