This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS), Assistant Commandant for Human Resources (CG-1), Executive Assistant Staff (CG-1A), Washington, DC.
Duties
You will ensure task coordination within and between other CG headquarters directorates; coordinate responses to external executive level tasking and communications; coordinate responses to questions and answers to Congress, Office of Management and Budget, DHS, DCMS elements; assess CG-1 front office resource needs; and conduct a variety of other activities associated with CG-1 Directorate business activities.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the team. Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes:
Utilizing a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of complex management processes and systems.
Conducting analyses, studies and surveys covering programs and operations.
Developing new or modified work methods, organizational structures, management processes, and/or program administration procedures.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes:
Evaluating the effectiveness of various planning and management practices, analysis of administrative processes, understanding organizational culture, and/or general management review.
Conducting analyses, studies and surveys covering programs and operations.
Preparing reports or related work documents on survey results, trend analyses or special purpose research.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
