This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, and Information Systems Group (ISG). As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Project Manager), GS-2210-14, you will plan and coordinate the information technology work activities of staff that is engaged in systems projects for the development, operations, and data systems that support the Health Care Quality Information System.

Duties

Maintain liaison with the Office of Technology Services, user groups, and workgroups within the Agency. Develop and implements information technology policies and procedures that follow CMS and FHA protocols. Participate in interviews and selection of candidates for positions. Provide oversight of the IT projects from beginning to end, aligns stakeholders, and manages tension between on-time delivery and additional functionality.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Overseeing IT project activities in order to make improvements, solve problems, and take corrective action to mitigate risk; and 2) Leading the effort to effect change after identifying areas of improvement, and 3) Leading IT Developers using Agile and Human Center Design practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
