This position serves as the Automated Engineering Management System/Medical Equipment Reporting System (AEMSIMERS) work order coordinator and equipment manager for Facility Management Service.

DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupation. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: The incumbent is responsible for extracting work control and preventive maintenance associated performance and statistical report data from the AEMS/MERS Engineering application in VISTA for use by other staff members. The incumbent has primary responsibility for answering telephone calls at the number designated for emergency work requests, determining the exact nature of the telephone requests and, if determined an emergency, notifying the appropriate staff for immediate attention to the situation. Responsible for maintaining accurate key control records for all keys issued to VASNHS employees in accordance with key control policies and procedures. The incumbent is an alternate timekeeper for maintaining time and attendance records, and associated leave records, for approximately 40 employees. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm Position Description Title/PD#: Work Order Coordinating Clerk (OA)/PD036687 Physical Requirements: The incumbent normally works in an office setting which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated and spends considerable time working at a desk. He/she uses computer, with associated printer, the majority of the time.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Typing Proficiency: Must be able to type 40 words per minute (WPM). GS-05 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-XX grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Knowledge of administrative requirements, policies, and procedures. Review and study administrative publications and standards. Knowledge of timekeeping procedures and regulations. Knowledge of computer system program/software (i.e., VISTA, AEMS.MERS, Microsoft word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint). Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. (Transcripts must be submitted at time of application). OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond post-high school (beyond the second year). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
