Duties
You will develop Navy history and heritage knowledge products through design and publication.
You will use desktop publishing software to prepare manuscripts for editing, proofreading, indexing, or typesetting.
You will design and/or assist with the design, production, printing, and distribution of various products?traditional and digital.
You will contribute to the web publishing effort with emphasis on the technical interactivity /functionality /usefulness as well as aesthetics and
brand.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Evaluating the quality of imagery provided and making final selections based on quality, appropriateness to the format of the final product, and value-added elements for the reader; 2) Applying knowledge of layout and design principles to format manuscript text and incorporate photos, illustrations, and other graphics to produce final digital files: 3) Utilizing desktop publishing software to prepare manuscripts for editing, proofreading, indexing, or typesetting; 4) Using web content management systems to develop and maintain content across command web properties; 5) Representing the division with design, production, and printing agencies.
GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Assisting with evaluating the quality of imagery provided and making final selections based on quality, appropriateness to the format of the final product, and value-added elements for the reader; 2) Applying knowledge of layout and design principles to format manuscript text; 3) Using web content management systems to develop and maintain content across command web properties; 4) Assisting in representing the division with design, production, and printing agencies.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09
Applicants may substitute specialized experience with meeting one or more of the education requirements below: Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Education must be related to the position being filled.
GS-07
Applicants may substitute specialized experience with meeting one or more of the education requirements below:
1 full year of graduate level education
OR
A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.
