Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Acquisition Management Branch, HQ USCENTCOM, CCJ6-RA.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Acquisition Management Branch, ensuring that Finance, Contracting and Asset Management complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participates with the Director/Program Manager in the exercise of supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Accounts for all IT and IT-related property for HQ USCENTCOM. Represents HQ USCENTCOM CCJ6 with a variety of installation and functional area organization. Performs budget formulation and management involving preparation of detailed analysis of annual and/or multi-year budget requests supporting the CCJ6. Plans and organizes the C4 Acquisition activities of the HQ USCENTCOM CCJ6 and manages all services contracts supporting the CCJ6.

  • This position is designed by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, continued

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the following specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing, planning, directing organizing and exercising supervisory skills over assigned personnel; leading programs/projects in executing unclassified and highly classified tasks to provide infrastructure, firmware, hardware, software product support to cyber warfighters; assessing and managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance progress of assigned projects or programs through the required phases of the acquisition life cycle; developing and implementing program controls; planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to contracting, engineering, testing, and/or logistics; reviewing and directing the progress of applicable contracts in meeting program objectives; and preparing briefings, studies, and other analyses for presentation to management officials and stakeholders. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the full range of federal contracting and fiscal laws, regulations, policies, practices, methods, and contract types and policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition management processes and initiatives. 2. Knowledge of wide range of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation program, storage and materials equipment policies, preservation packaging, and cargo movement and material management. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Ability to plan, organizes, and directs the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 6. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
