Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Program Analyst, you will:
Provide oversight and management of FHEO's non-competitive funding program and is responsible for assisting Federal, State and local public and private agencies in developing and executing fair housing enforcement programs and reviews State and local fair housing laws and certifies laws to determine that they are substantially equivalent to the Federal Fair Housing Act.
Be responsible for providing funding to those substantially equivalent agencies to conduct case processing, training, education and outreach, partnership activities, and providing and improving agency data and information systems, and capacity building activities.
Conduct analyses and evaluation of FHEO programs, and formulates recommendations to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes monitoring the civil rights regulatory compliance of State or local agencies.
Examples could include:
- Performing research and analysis of State or local civil rights laws.; OR
- Developing remedial guidance related to civil rights or Fair Housing Act enforcement programs.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes reviewing State or local civil rights laws, regulations, policies, or procedures to determine applicability and conformance to federal regulations.
Examples could include:
- Performing research and analysis of existing or proposed civil rights laws, regulations and policies.; OR
- Performing research and analysis of existing or proposed program regulations and policies as it relates to federal regulations.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
