This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the OFFICE OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND IT SECURITY. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will provide advice, leadership, and guidance in the process of risk analysis, the identification of systems requirements based on risk assessments and state of the art product and technology surveys, and the development and administration of control processes and security safeguards.
Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
- Conduct risk assessments, security evaluations, and reviews of facility and product security and access control systems and technologies throughout the system life cycle.
- Evaluate proposed new systems and technologies, system modifications and upgrades, and systems under development and in use to identify and assess the effectiveness of technologies and system implementations and the usefulness in mitigation of the potential impact of threats to the Bureau, Bureau personnel, and Bureau programs.
- Design, develop, and recommend acquisition specifications related to IT and physical security considerations and appropriate security design features and safeguards.
- Implement, promote, ensure, and monitor the rigorous application of approved security policies, procedures, principles, standards and controls in the design and delivery of all IT based security systems.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13 all candidates are required to have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is experience developing Information Technology security policies, standards, and processes that protect an organizations premises and products through electronic access control.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
