About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist providing guidance and direction through subordinate employees to a group of specialist and support personnel responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, reviewing, and approving the efforts of government and industry involved in providing technical data, technical assistance, and support to foreign and international customers acquiring weapon systems through Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
Duties
Responsible for developing and formulating total program initiatives for assigned weapon systems leading to providing a total package concept for foreign customers.
Coordinates and plans for release of product improvement development data to foreign customers.
Responsible for assigned systems for development of security assistance agreement with responsibility for effective an efficient execution of all interrelationships with the command as as U.S. Government activities and foreign governments.
Provides guidance and direction to a group of specialists and support personnel responsible for planning, coordination monitoring, integrating, and executing a variety of actions in support of security assistance programs for assigned weapon systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of at least 25% of the time
- Selectee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category of Life Cycle Logistics and Advanced Career Certification must be met within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a requirement to walk long distances, climb stairs, and carry files and documents weighing up to 10 pounds.
- This is an Emergency-Essential position the the incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements to ensure the success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems subsequent to mobilization or an evacuation order.

Specialized Experience: Three years of specialized experience which includes applying advanced concepts, principles, practices and regulations pertaining to the field of logistics management related to weapon system project/program; Logistics Contract Experience to support requirements, Budget planning/execution; providing leadership or managing logistics supply and maintenance, weapon system programming and allocation; and overseeing materiel acquisition policy in order to integrate the separate logistics functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13.
