These positions are located at Cape Cod National Seashore in the Maintenance Division. Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 regular hours in a service year may be terminated sooner depending on management needs. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is October - March but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October 2023

Duties

The purpose of this position is to perform the maintenance, repair, and construction of park trails. Perform masonry work, primarily dry stone, in the construction, stabilization, and maintenance of park trail systems. Perform carpentry work on trail structures such as log checks, foot bridges, stairs, and boardwalks. Transport tools and materials to jobsites and trailheads. Qualifications

Examples of experience for this position include: experience with trail work to included construction, stabilization, and maintenance of trails; work on trail structures such as log checks, foot bridges, stairs, and boardwalks. You must meet level 2 on the screen out factor/element and an average of level 2 on all factors/elements. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices. Use of measuring instruments. Ability to safely use and maintain tools and equipment. Knowledge of materials. Ability to interpret instructions and specifications, including blueprints.
