Duties
Provides support and administrative oversight of High Voltage Electricians position, responsible for electrical work, 600 Volts.
Serves as working leader for electrician duties consisting of passing workers the instructions received from the supervisors and getting work started e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led.
Uses computers to track and report progress on work assignments and request authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment, and materials to meet schedules.
Recommends changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences as necessary and makes minor deviations in procedures or redirects resources under their control to overcome problems such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences.
Counsels' employees on minor problems concerning work and takes corrective action on conduct and performance problems to resolve minor grievances.
Installs and repairs control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, transformers, and all equipment up to 600 volts.
Diagnoses and resolves problems in electrical distribution, electrical circuits, and systems using testing equipment and instruments.
Fills in temporarily for other leads in HVAC and general maintenance and preform basic maintenance in both areas, as needed.

- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position. The incumbent may be required to report to work in the event
of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or crisis.
Qualifications
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition. The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is:
Ability to Lead: I instruct other workers on less complex work methods; refer to manuals as a means in answering questions related to the duties and responsibilities of the position; and adhere to all safety standards.
