You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR LEADER in the ORDNANCE OPERATION DIVISION of NAVMUNITIONSCMD EA DIV DET SEWELLS PT.
Duties
You will perform a wide range of materials handling functions.
You will receive, issue, store, and ship ordnance materials including ammunition, explosive, missiles and various other hazardous materials.
You will perform material handling functions involved in segregating, selecting, handling, prepping inventorying blocking and bracing.
You will inspect and evaluate the quality and confirm the quantity of materials.
You will operate tractor-trailers loaded with hazardous materials.
You will lead and assist crews in performing ordnance functions and operations.
You will monitor the progress of work to ensure all accountability, safety, and security procedures are being followed.
You will make modification and renovations to various ordnance items.
You will maintain an accurate inventory of assets.
You will lead three or more employees.
You will inform the workforce of the instructions received from supervisors.
You will assign the immediate tasks to individual members of the crew.
You will set the work pace and work side by side with the other workers.
You will report to supervisors on the status and progress of work, reasons for delays, and respond to questions from supervisors on overall work operations
You will assure the quality, quantity, and safety of ordnance materials and operations.
You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items.
You will perform inspections to determine adequacy of operations and facilities.
You will perform quality inspections and tests using gauges, torque wrenches, measuring devices, calipers and voltmeters.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Ability to pass a physical examination for explosives operations personnel every two years until age 60, annually thereafter.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an "Ammunition and Explosives Qualification Certification" in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command Instruction (NAVSEAINST) 8020.9 (series).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current materials handling equipment (MHE) license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosives hazardous material's license to operate motor vehicles having a gross weight of more than 32,000 pounds.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) endorsement for hazardous materials.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Qualifications

Ability To Lead Or Supervise such as:
Leading three or more other workers to accomplish quality inspection, blocking and bracing, motor vehicle operation, segregation, receipts and issue, stowage and storage, forklift operation, inventory and ordnance materials preparation and documentation.
Inspecting and approving transportation conveyances as suitable for loading and the blocking and bracing of the conveyance and load.
Performing quality inspections and tests using gauges, torques wrenches, measuring devices, calipers and voltmeters.
Performing receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items including receipt/issue quantities to documentation and to certify items as ready for issue.
Using automated information systems, optical scanners, bar code label printers, measurement devices, calibrated gauges, torque wrenches, calipers, voltmeters, hand tools, and various kinds of power and air driven equipment.
