About the Position: About the Position: This position is located with Headquarters Dept. of Army (HQDA), Office of the Secretary of the Army, Office Chief of Legislative Liaison, Management and Support Operations Division, Arlington, VA.

Duties

Actively participate in staff and/or management level meetings and discussions pertaining to the activities encompassed in travel and management functions. Coordinate the gathering and processing of information for reports, replies, studies and programs requiring action officer input from multiple sources. Establish and implement standards for efficient operation in the areas of correspondence, scheduling, travel and protocol matters. Provide guidance and advice in accordance to DOD Regulations to Directorate Action Officers in all areas of Congressional Travel. Provide technical guidance and advice in all areas of travel supply and logistic support. Monitor travel property accountability records and required inventories. Serve as the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) Defense Travel System (DTS) Interface Processing Monitor.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Occasional temporary duty may be required UP TO 5% of the time.

Qualifications

This position is a TERM position NTE 2 Years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. NOTE: This position will not be made permanent. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-11 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing input for formulation and implementation of program, policies and procedures for the administration and management of executive travel; coordinating formation with responsible proponents to ensure accurate processing of airline information; and organizing budget data according to appropriation, account, object class, and/or line item. Or Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position, such as Business Management, Business Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). Or Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). GS12 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating official travel for executive staff, senior civilian and military officials; drafting procedural instructions and policy guidance for use by the organization officials in planning and estimating funding requirements for the operating budget; and collaborating with various technical and managerial representatives concerning Airline Systems to trouble shoot and resolve operational and system problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComplianceData Collection and Analysis Management may select at any of the grade levels announced. This recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition when selectee is eligible and recommended by management. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-12 level. If not selected at the full performance, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision.
